Orlando Real Estate
Orlando, Florida is one of the fastest growing areas in the country and is currently in the midst of a surge in real estate activity. Search for Orlando Properties
Orlando, like many other cities, is divided into areas and neighborhoods. Some of those neighborhoods are ideal for those relocating to the area--locations are ideal, schools are great, and the price is right. People are snapping up this real estate almost as quickly as it becomes available, so if you are thinking of relocating to Orlando, the time is now.
There are also many neighborhoods with new construction and planned communities. Master planned communities are becoming the most popular way to begin a new neighborhood, and there are plenty to choose from in the Orlando real estate market. Not only that, but more is being planned every day.
Orlando Neighborhoods and Homes for Sale
For the newcomer, there are some considerations when choosing Orlando real estate. You want good schools if you have children, but you also want to be near employment and some of the entertainment Orlando offers. If you want to be closer to the nightlife, you may prefer the urban areas. Here are a few neighborhoods to consider when shopping for your Orlando home.
Downtown Orlando
This area has become much more popular over the years, and residents have more choices of new condos in the commercial district. There is also plenty of Victorian style homes around trendy boutiques and cafes. Lake Eola Park is the crown jewel of the area, and has lots of room for walking and jogging around the lake. Every Sunday a farmer’s market is held. The park also boasts the Walt Disney Amphitheatre, restaurant, paddle boats, and playgrounds. There are also plenty of artisan displays, galleries, and nightlife.
College Park
This area is northwest of downtown Orlando, and you’ll know when you’re there--the streets are named after prestigious colleges. Bungalows line the streets of this friendly community, as do other styles of homes. Author Jack Kerouac once lived in College Park with his mother when On the Road was being published, and local small businesses banded together to restore that house and found The Kerouac Project to host writers-in-residence. Here are some choice properties in College Park:
Winter Park
This community was once a region of citrus groves and wealthy winter vacationers from the north. Now it’s home to other types of trees as well, and is a major attraction. Winter Park has three museums available to travelers and residents alike: The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American art features Louis Comfort Tiffany’s works; Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens; and the Cornell Fine Arts Museum at Rollins College (one of the country’s best private fine arts colleges). There are also a plethora of shops and restaurants in this community, as well as walking trails. Here are some choice properties in Winter Park:
There are lots of other neighborhoods in the Orlando area, and anyone considering relocating to this fine city should start by searching the internet for possible new homes.
